Please Note that only those plants and sizes listed in BOLD are available at this time.

Plants are available in the sizes listed. Plugs can be purchased in deep 50-cell SR50 trays or a la carte.

Orders can be delivered, with a delivery fee of $20, to any location within 10 miles. Add $2/mile for deliveries farther than 10 miles.

We accept Cash and Check only, sorry no Credit Cards.

HOW TO GET HERE

Our nursery yard is open for pickups by appointment only, Tuesday - Friday, 10AM - 4PM

The Little Bluestem nursery is located at 1323 Glass Hollow Road, Afton. The nursery is behind the big brown house on the left side of the road before a clearing with a pond. If you cross a bridge over a creek, you have gone too far.

Do not follow your GPS, it will take you to the neighbors or to the other side of the mountain! Please look at a map beforehand and pay attention to the road numbers on the real street.

PROPAGATION PRACTICES

We use Certified Organic amendments, alongside home-made teas and other botanical preparations to nourish and maintain the health of the plants.

We use no synthetic pesticides, fungicides, or toxic anything in the nursery or on the land.

Seeds and starts are treated with respect and handled with loving care.

HABITATS IN A BOX

In addition to individual species, we also offer mixes of plants from the same ecotype- Piedmont Prairie, Wetland, etc. These species grow together in the wild, and can help each other establish and thrive in a new setting with the appropriate soil, sun, etc.

If you'd like to plant a native plant garden but aren't sure where to start, a Habitat in a Box can get you and your garden off to a good start!

Species selection is at the discretion of the Little Bluestem nursery crew. We'll ask you a couple questions about your site, and assemble a mix of plants that we think will be appropriate, based on the plugs available at that time.
